Cleaning of Paints and Plastics
For painted metals and plastics - ordinary dirt, smudges and water soluble stains can be removed with mild soap and water. If needed for difficult stains, use a hard-surface, all-purpose cleaner such as Formula 409® or Fantastik®. Some oil-borne stains may require the use of a solvent based cleaner, which should always e tested in a hidden location prior to general use.
Cleaning of Palm Rest Covers
Ordinary dirt, smudges and water soluble stains can be removed with mild soap and water. Use a clean cloth or soft sponge to dab the stain with soapy water. Remove the soap solution by wiping the area with a cloth and clean water. Dry with a soft lint-free cloth or towel. Avoid using cleaners containing abrasives or bleach. Disinfectants can be use provided they are evaluated beforehand.
Very stubborn stains or non-water soluble stains can be removed with mild solvent such as naptha. Lightly wipe the stain with a clean cloth which has been moistened with solvent. Blot the area wit a dry cloth and allow to dry.
Many ink and magic marker stains can be removed using a solution of one part Wisk detergent and one part rubbing alcohol. Dab lightly with a cloth which has been moistened with the solution. Do not rub. As the ink loosens, blot the area with a dry cloth. Repeat if necessary. Rinse with a cloth dampened in clean water, and dry with a soft cloth.
Care & Cleaning for Urethane Profile Edge
Urethane Profile edges are generally stain resistant to most compounds or staining agents found in the office, food and healthcare industries. Most food condiments such as ketchup, mustard, steak sauce, etc. will clean up easily. However, bacteriostatic agents such as iodine and betadine have the greatest staining potential and care should be exercised to avoid exposing this product to these as such stains can usually be only partially removed.
When cleaning, avoid using harsh cleaners with abrasive additives. Never attempt to use sharp metal objects or sandpaper to remove stains. Do not use bleach to clean the edge. Do not use hard bristle brushes. All of these will cause permanent damage to the edge and/or laminate surface and will void the warranty.
We recommend the following cleaning practices be use used to help maintain the appearance of this product. Ordinary soiled edges cause by normal use an be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge and Clorox® Clean-Up® Cleaner with Bleach or Formula 409®. For stains, if a scrub brush is used, make sure it is a soft bristle type of prevent scratching. Successive cleanings may be required using a soft bristle brush and 70% isopropyl alcohol.
